OPI Polka.com and Can't Find My Czechbook

Today I have a recent manicure of mine that features two polishes from the OPI Euro Centrale collection. Overall, I think this may be the collection of OPI's I like the most. Don't get me wrong, the Bond polishes are right up my alley and I love those, but I think Euro Centrale had the best range of colors and so far, the consistency of many of them is superb.

These were the first two colors of the collection that I purchased, and last week I was craving something light but bright. I was dying to use Polka.com, but I didn't want to paint a coat of glitter over top ... snooze. I decided a glitter tip might be a nice change!

Can't Find My Czechbook is a bright robin's egg blue with a creme finish. I used two coats to reach full opacity, but there was something about the formula of this polish that was so strange. I don't know if I happened to get a wonky bottle or if they're all like this, but while it had a tendency to pool in my cuticles like a too-thin polish would, I would also get bare spots toward the tips of the nail, as is common when polishes are too thick and don't spread well. Very interesting... but after two coats the polish looked smooth and shiny nonetheless. It's a very saturated color.

Polka.com has to be one of my favorite glitters released in the last year or so. Glitter polishes have made a resurgence in all shapes and forms, but I will say I'm not a fan of most. Don't get me wrong, I love glitter, but many glitter polishes are too thick, too thin, not enough particles and require actual "placing," too rough, etc. This list could go on forever. But OPI nailed it with Polka.com. I didn't have to place the glitter where I wanted it, and a solid amount came out on the brush in one dip. The clear base is thin enough to prevent the tip of my nail from looking like it had a raised clump of polish on it. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the color of the hex glitter. It's gorgeous! Pink, purple, light blue - the colors go so well together and they also complement many polishes in the collection. OPI hit this one out of the park!

Has the Euro Centrale collection inspired any manicures of your own?
