My Very First ShoeMint

Shoes, shoes and more shoes... you can never have enough, right?

I recently purchased my very first pair of shoes from ShoeMint and I think I'm in love. Let's start from the beginning of this love story, shall we?

I'm sure you're familiar with at least one site in the Mint family - JewelMint, ShoeMint, BeautyMint, IntiMint, StyleMint. Either way, I'll give you a little background. The idea behind the Mint sites is that a celebrity and/or celebrity stylist collaborate to create a line of products to buy whether it be clothing, jewelry, shoes, etc. The Mints are subscription services where you are charged a certain amount of money per month, but you are given the first five days of each month to "skip" if there is nothing you would like to purchase, and you will not be charged. If you do not skip or make a purchase, you are charged and you will earn a "credit" for one purchase.

ShoeMint in particular is turning one this week; it was launched on Black Friday 2011. The creators for the collection are actor/style icon Rachel Bilson and celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez. You have the ability to buy from the entire collection, but when signing up you may take a quiz that specifically tailors a small collection of shoes to your tastes.

I will admit that I was a bit hesitant at first. I have purchased from JewelMint multiple times, but I am very particular about shoes - the way they fit, the quality, and the comfort level. It's rare that I buy a pair of shoes online from a brand that I have not at least tried once before to be sure of my size. I also read up a bit on ShoeMint in general and found that the shoes are manufactured by Steve Madden! Sold. I'm a loyal Steve Madden customer and I'm almost always satisfied by their fit and quality. Also - you can always find a good discount through bloggers, discount with first purchase, and other occasional coupons. So, I took the plunge.

The Joanna immediately caught my eye as I was skimming through the collection. It comes in a gorgeous metallic champagne-y gold as well, but the jewel tone was just so pretty and reminded me of the peacock colors I love so dearly. I also can't help but mentioning that the bow caught my eye. (You should know that one by now.) They came as a box in a box. The ShoeMint box was surrounded by a brown paper barrier and the label looked oh-so Madden and familiar. The shoes themselves were very well wrapped and protected.

I was shocked at how heavy the box was! The shoes are definitely the reason for that and they are made so well. They have a great amount of cushion to provide comfort, too. I wore them around my kitchen in my non-matching sweatpants for a while just because I couldn't wait to wear them.

I'm definitely satisfied with this purchase and can safely say I will be purchasing from ShoeMint in the future. (I already have a list... oops.) Have you purchased anything from ShoeMint? If you have or have a favorite pair, I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Now look at these little beauties! I've never ordered from ShoeMint (I am just as picky as you with shoes), I have to try them on! Looks like I might have to change my ways :)
