Maybelline Spring 2014 Dare To Go Nude Collection Color Tattoo Swatches & Review

When I get word that the new drugstore limited edition collections have been spotted, I'm on the prowl. Checking every drugstore within a 20-mile radius has become a hobby. I take my products very seriously. Apparently plenty of other people do as well, because a lot of these collections sell out in just a few days. When it comes to Maybelline, the Color Tattoos are always the first to go.

I was overjoyed to hear there would be new LE Color Tattoos in this nude spring collection, and I had to get my hands on all of them. I'm now seeing this collection pop up at a variety of places, and I wanted to get these beauties up to help you decide what to choose before they're gone!

There are six Color Tattoos in total, ranging from pale, shimmery nudes to a deep, sparkly black. This is my kind of collection.

Pure Nude is a soft pinky champagne with a gorgeous sheen. I was expecting this to be a little more pink than it was at first glance and it's also more pigmented than I anticipated. I swiped this color about three times on my arm to get the opacity you see in the photos above.

Beige-ing Beauty is a golden, warm champagne, far less pigmented than Pure Nude, and it contains glitter. It took quite a few swipes to get the color payoff in the photos. I'm a little disappointed but it could make for a very pretty touch of shimmer with some serious winged liner and lashes. (Ooh, that sounds fun.)

Nude Compliment and Sleek & Spice are fairly similar in texture and finish. They're both incredibly smooth and pigmented. Nude Compliment leans a little warm and brassy while Sleek & Spice is cooler, deeper, and a bit more taupe.

Caramel Cool is the surprise winner in this collection for me. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do. I don't have anything else like it in my collection and it's so creamy. It's like butter. The color is a gorgeous orange/copper color that screams summertime. It has a beautiful sheen that gives it dimension, but no sparkle. Bravo, Maybelline.

Last we have Stroke of Midnight, a stunning sparkly black. The color is very rich and deep, and much to my surprise, it's matte! The formula itself is matte but the glitter thrown in makes for a very interesting finish. The glitter is also not chunky and rough. It's very fine and sparse glitter which makes for a smooth application. Can't wait to try this with a smokey eye!

I hope this has helped if you're still debating whether or not to pick these up, and I will continue my enabling ways and say they are definitely something I think you shouldn't miss. I have some more products from the rest of this collection that I will be sharing sometime next week, and maybe I'll include a few looks. We shall see. :)
